Revision: U2: LO1 & LO2

1(a) Identify FOUR client requirements that Active Apps must consider when planning and testing the MyDesign app.

     1) Easy to Navigate (Easy to Use)

2)E-commerce features (payment methods, address, online shopping cart, search bar to find clothes)

3)Connect to social media accounts to have influencers and models

4)It is suitable for the target demographic 16-30, cross cultural, unisex (all genders)

(b) Identify and explain ONE problem that one of the client requirements identified in 1(a) might cause.

One problem lies with the need for e-commerce features which could pose issues with privacy. There is a risk of personal information such as bank details being stolen is they need to ensure that they take proper security precautions

2) Identify TWO ways that Stephen could get audience feedback on the design ideas for that avatar function.

Explain why each is suitable.

    1) A social media survey. This is suitable because it would be easy to access as most      people in the target demographic will have access to social media and use it regularly.

    2) A focus group. This is good because it allows you to get specific and in depth face to face feedback.

3) Marcus has asked you to help him research the interactive features of apps.

Identify THREE primary methods, other than a focus group, that would allow you to research the interactive features of apps.

    1) Content analysis of a similar app.

    2) Interview with an app developer (specialist)

    3) Observation of the target audience using apps.

4(a) Aurora needs to create visualisation diagrams for the avatar function.

Identify THREE elements of a visualisation diagram.

Explain why each of these elements would be necessary when planning the app. Use the brief to support your answers.

  1) One element of the visualisation diagram would be the house style of the app. They would need to plan this so they could make the app look appealing to the target audience so they can have a positive and fun experience.

  2) Another element of the visualisation diagram would be the layout of where the pictures would be on the app. This would be needed so we can see how the target audience would use the app to upload the pictures to an avatar.

  3) Another element of the visualisation diagram would be the annotations to tell us how the design meets the products brief. It is needed so we can see how the company is meeting the target audience's needs in more detail and depth.

4(b) Identify two pre-production documents, other than a mind map, that Marcus could create to show his ideas for the navigation and interactivity of the avatar function.

Explain why each is needed.

1- We could create a wireframe which plans the layout and elements where the user has to press.
2- We could create a prototype as it shows how it can be used and given to the target audience for testing.

We could create a site map which shows how the pages of the website links and the structure of the app.

5 (a) Stephen is researching the legal constraints relating to the avatar function.

Identify one potential legal constraint that the team would need to consider when develop the avatar function of the app.

Explain why this would need to be considered.

The Data Protection Act which protects people's personal and private details such as the bank/card details or photos they uploaded. This would need to be considered because if the website leaks their customers details they will face legal issues.

Copyright
Theft - of other people's images
Trolling and bullying - Cyberbullying - links to social media accounts

(b) MyDesign are concerned about the problems hat might arise when users connect their social media accounts to the app.

Identify ONE potential problem linking social media accounts to the app and explain how he problem could be resolved.

One potential problem is cyber bullying. This could be resolved by enabling users to block other users who may be causing them harassment.

6) MyDesign want to make the app as inclusive as possible.

Identify TWO ethical issues that Aurora needs to address in her planning to ensure the app includes appeal to all groups in the target audience.

Explain why each of these issues need to be considered.

Notes: Ethical issues are to do with society. Protects people from offence. Upholding morals.

    1) Representation of different race and ethnicities needs to be considered. This is because the app needs to include all cultures and catered for so they can use the avatar functions.
    2) Representation of gender needs to be considered. Different gender identities should be included so people don't feel left out or offended.
